Starlight Series (M/F)

This is the book that started it all. That and Benedict Cumberbatch. Obsessed with the incredible Sherlock star, I decided to write a screen play for a film he could be in. I’d heard he wanted a good romantic lead. My plan was then to pitch it to someone and get Benedict to star in the TV series. Lofty ideals, yes. The screen play was tough going, so I decided to write the book first then adapt it to a screen play. So I did. Then I thought, hell, you’ve written it now and had a lot of fun; you might as well see if someone wants to publish it. And they did. Big bloody surprise to me, but I was overjoyed. I completed a pilot episode for a TV series based on this book and submitted it to the BBC in a competition. It didn’t get anywhere but by then I’d written another half a dozen books and was flying, so I didn’t care any more.

The MC in this book, Bennett Saville was inspired by Benedict. He’s a younger man falling in love with a woman ten years older than him. A May-December romance.

Unconventional though she may be, Cassandra Wallace leads the life of an average Londoner, from blind dates to rush hour traffic. Then, along comes Bennett Saville. Charming, erudite, the up-and-coming actor is like the hero of a romantic movie. He sets Cassie afire like he has the stage and screen, and defies the tragedy that brought them together. From the tips of his Armani loafers to their scorching hot first kiss, he’s perfect. Only, he’s ten years younger and from the upper class, and those emerald eyes invite dangerous secrets. The world is full of hungry leading ladies, and every show must have its villain. Yet a true romance will always find its happy ending.

This is the second book in what was written as a trilogy. I have got book 3 finished; it was also M/F so my publisher wasn’t really keen on publishing it as my M/F books made virtually NO MONEY at all. No kidding; I think I made a royalty of about $16 for both of these books. So I thought I might change it to M/M as there is a gay couple in the series. It didn’t work out so well, and I’m still mulling over whether to adapt my last book in this series for publication.

Bennett Saville is sexy. At the peak of his career, the English star of stage and screen is everything a woman might desire, as fiancée Cassandra Wallace well knows. Together they’ve seen the world, from L.A. to Shangri La, yet shadows persist even in the spotlight. At home they face lust, greed, and ghosts from their pasts—and that’s off stage. There is also “The Val”. The aged London theatre holds a mystery four centuries old, cast in starlight and waiting to be revealed. Intensely personal, impossibly passionate, the play must go on…and Cassie and Bennett must face it together.

So if you love books about actors, drama, the London theatre scene, handsome younger man loving poised older woman, this might be something you’d like to read. And if you ever see Benedict, tell him about these books. He might like to read them or at the very best, call me up and tell me he wants to star in the TV series. That he’s going to bank roll. Nuff said.
